La Fondita de Jesús offers several housing projects.

Permanent housing project with support services, aimed at chronically homeless people, with physical or mental disabilities or both, duly certified by an accredited health professional.​

It has 29 furnished studio-type housing units and 43 housing vouchers.

My Home Program II

Permanent housing program that provides rental subsidy with supportive services to its participants with funds provided by HUD.

It is aimed at chronic homeless people, with physical or mental disabilities or both, duly certified by an accredited health professional.

It has 47 housing vouchers.

La Puerta de Jesús

Rapid Rehousing Program

Short-term permanent housing alternative for homeless individuals who are not affected by incapacitating conditions.

 

The goal of the program is for the person to reach the end of the subsidy (maximum 24 months) ready or with enough resources to stay paying. This can be because the person has the required income or has acquired a voucher from section 8, HOPWA, PR Housing, etc.

 

Homeless elegible people should be 18 years old or older, individual or family of 2 to 3 people.

 

The goal of this program is to impact all of the homeless population, but will prioritize the following:

  • LGBTTQIA+ community (individuals or couples) and especially if they are:

  • Young people 18 to 24 years of age

  • Transgender or non-binary people

Puerta al Cambio

Rapid Rehousing Program

Permanent housing program that aims to promote that the participants stabilize socioeconomically, so that when they are ready they can continue paying their rent with their own resources.

The emphasis of this program is aimed at homeless people, including young people from 18 to 24 years old, the LGBTTQI+ population and families with children.

It has 30 rental assistance vouchers for homeless people, under the rapid rehousing modality for up to a maximum of 24 months, with funds provided by HUD.

Los Robles Project

Housing project subsidized with funds from the federal HOME Program, located in the Capetillo Sector, in Rio Piedras.

 

It provides rental housing to low-income people, the elderly, and people with disabilities, giving priority to homeless people.

 

It has 13 furnished housing units, studio and one-bedroom type.

La Fondita Resilient

The organization has taken the necessary measures to keep operating effectively in case of climatic or unforeseen emergencies. All our buildings run on renewable energy through solar panels and batteries. We have a power plant and a diesel reserve. In addition, all the buildings have water reserves through cisterns. We are a resilient organization in favor of our served population!

Federal Housing Equity Law

(Fair Housing Act)

Corporación La Fondita de Jesús, in compliance with the Federal Fair Housing Act and the Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Equal Access Rule for the LGBT community, prohibits discrimination in access to housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and familial status (i.e., the presence of children under 18 years of age in the household or pregnancy), actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status. It also prohibits discrimination in access to housing against lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) individuals, as well as discrimination in access to housing against individuals with HIV/AIDS or individuals perceived as having HIV/AIDS.
