Basic Items
  • Jeans for men in sizes from 28 to 38 waist (at the moment we are not receiving jeans for women due to excess donations)

  • Briefs in sizes 30 to 40 waist (emphasis 32 to 36)

  • Ladies underwear in sizes small and medium (in new/unopened package)

  • Men's tennis in sizes 8 to 13

  • Ladies tennis in sizes 6 to 9

  • Toothpaste and toothbrush

  • Shaving cream and razors

  • Feminine Pads

  • Deodorant

  • Shampoo

  • Bath soap

  • Bathroom towels

  • Laundry detergent

  • General cleaning detergents (e.g. Clorox, Lestoil, Fabuloso, Odoban, Lysol, disinfectant wipes)

  • Dishwasher soap

Household Items

These necessities respond to homeless participants who have just obtained their permanent housing and do not have the resources to purchase the items described below.

  • Pillows

  • Set of sheets Twin and Full size

  • Shower curtains and their hooks

  • Large and small bath towels

  • Kitchen items (e.g. cauldrons, pots, plates, cutlery, pans, glasses, among others)

  • Laundry detergent

  • General cleaning detergents (e.g Clorox, Lestoil, Fabuloso, Odoban, Lysol, disinfectant wipes)

  • Dishwasher soap

Food

These necessities can constantly change. Respectfully, we recommend that you contact 787-724-4051 Ext. 305 or write to eotero@lafonditadejesus.org, to explore immediate necessities. However, in general, the following are our constant items:

  • Coffee (for drip coffee)

  • Instant coffee

  • Canned goods (e.g. fruits, grains, vegetables, bell peppers)

  • Canned pasta

  • Canned meats (e.g. chicken, beef, pork, tuna and salmon)

  • Olive oil

  • Olives

  • Salt

  • Creams (oatmeal, cornmeal, hot wheat cereal [e.g. Farina], cornstarch [e.g. Maizena]

  • Cinnamon and vanilla

  • Snacks (e.g. cookies, "potato chips", juices in a pot or "pouch")

  • Ketchup

  • UHT milk

  • Bottled water

  • 5oz, 7oz, 9oz and 12oz plastic cups

  • 6oz cardboard or foam cups for coffee

  • 6” and 9” plates

  • Soup and dessert spoons

  • Forks (we do not accept knives)

  • Foam plates (mostly known as "shells")

  • Plastic coffee stirrers

  • 18” aluminum foil

  • Saran wrap 18”

  • Gauzes of any size

  • Sticking plaster

  • Elastic bandages of any size

  • Hydrogen peroxide

  • Alcohol of any percent

  • Alcohol wipes (“alcohol swaps”)

  • Band-Aids of any size

  • Triple antibiotic†

  • Hydrocortisone†

  • Athlete's foot medication spray or cream† (e.g. Clotrimazole)

  • Pepto Bismol†

  • Antidiarrheals† (e.g. Imodium)

  • Liquid or tablet antacids† (e.g., Tums, Maalox, Gaviscon)

  • Acetaminophen / Naproxen / Ibuprofen

  • Antihistamines† (e.g. Claritin or Alavert [Loratadine], Zyrtec [Cetirizine Hydrochloride], Allegra [Fexofenadine HCl), Benadryl [Diphenhydramine HCl])

  • Safety lancets (for blood glucose monitoring)

  • Menthol lozenges† (ex. “Halls”)

  • Sugar-free† menthol lozenges (ex. “Halls” sugar-free)

  • Cough syrup† (eg Robitusin, Delsym)

  • Congestion Tablets† (Guaifenesin with Dextromethorphan)

  • Burn spray† (ex. Dermoplast)

  • Eye drops†

  • Multivitamins†

  • Orange blossom water

  • Weekly medication box or "pill trays" (single row or four rows)

  • Condoms

  • Regular mouthwash (for hospital stays)†

  • Alcohol-free mouthwash (for alcohol detoxes)†

  • "Underpads" to create a sterile field in wound or ulcer healing

  • Adult diapers in various sizes

  • Thick sanitary pads or, preferably, for urinary incontinence

  • “Q-Tips” as applicators (not for the ears)†

  • “Zip Lock” type bags of all sizes, to pack medications and to prevent them from getting wet or damp

  • Traveler size baby wipes

  • Items for hospitalizations: hospital kit, toothbrushes, travel size toothpaste, dental floss, bar soap, regular deodoant
